# Dropshipping — the post-purchase messages (Chapter 8 + Appendix D)

Copy, then make each one sound like you. Fill the **[brackets]** with your real details.

## 1. Immediately after purchase

> **Subject:** Order confirmed — here's what happens next
>
> Thanks for your order.
>
> Here's the timeline: I send it to the warehouse today, and it usually arrives within
> **[12–16 days]**. I'll email you the tracking as soon as it ships.
>
> While you're waiting, here's the **[guide name]** I mentioned — it covers [what it covers].
>
> If anything at all goes wrong, reply to this email. It comes straight to me.

## 2. When it ships

> **Subject:** It's on its way
>
> Your **[product]** shipped today. Tracking: **[link]**
>
> Expected arrival: **[date range]**. Tracking sometimes goes quiet in the middle for a few
> days — that's normal and doesn't mean anything is wrong.

That last line prevents a meaningful number of "where is my order" emails on its own.

## 3. Around day seven

> **Subject:** Still on its way — and something useful meanwhile
>
> Quick check-in: your **[product]** is still in transit and on schedule for
> **[date range]**.
>
> In the meantime, here's **[the guide / a related tip]**.
>
> Anything you want to ask before it lands, just reply.

**This is the message people skip and it is the one that matters most.** The middle of a long
delivery window is where a buyer starts to wonder whether they have been scammed.

## 4. Three days after delivery
**Job:** catch faults privately, before they become public one-star reviews.

> **Subject:** Did it arrive OK?
>
> Your **[product]** should have arrived on **[date]** — did it arrive in good condition?
> If anything's off, reply and I'll fix it. No forms, no process, just reply.
> And if it worked out, I'd genuinely like to know.

## 5. The referral ask — only once they confirm it's fine

> Glad it worked out.
> Quick question — do you know anyone else who **[has the specific problem]**? Happy to help them too.

Name the problem. People can't produce names in the abstract, but they immediately think of the
friend who complained about the exact same thing.

> ⚠️ If you send any of these as bulk marketing emails rather than personal replies, US CAN-SPAM
> rules apply: an honest sender, your business's postal address, and a working unsubscribe you honor
> within 10 business days.
